Book Description
This book turns the traditional approach to student success on its head by examining the learning habits of successful students based on what they have told us about their learning strategies, on what they do to succeed in college, and on the teaching practices they think best foster their learning. This approach is in stark contrast to most recent studies of learning at the college level which focus on what students need to do to succeed, but are written from the point of view of "experts" who provide advice to struggling students. Learning from the Learners: Successful College Students Share Their Effective Learning Habits is based on what "expert" students tell us about what they - as learners - do to succeed. It is grounded in a 10-year study that rests on a rich qualitative data set that includes open-ended survey responses gathered on a term-by term basis and in depth interviews during the freshman and junior years with over 700 students of diverse backgrounds. Additionally, since many students interviewed were the first in their family to attend college and from backgrounds traditionally underserved by higher education, the book's insights will be of particular interest to educators elsewhere who are increasingly expected to help similar students succeed. Themes include student success, academic challenges, diversity, pedagogy, and technology in the classroom. No other book on the widely discussed subject of student success relies on such a wealth of quantitative and qualitative data about what works from the point of view of students themselves.

Book Description
STUDY HABITS The research reported in this thesis makes a modest study of Study Habits in post-graduate students in relation to certain important social and psychological factors. The sociological variables include ethnicity, faculty and gender while the psychological variables consist of adjustment, aspiration, and parental support. The data of study habits and use of library, adjustment, aspiration and parental support were collected from 400 post-graduate students drawn from four faculties namely Arts, Science, Commerce and Medicine. Each faculty was represented by 100 cases divided into an equal number of tribal, non-tribal, male and female cases. In addition to the above noted psychological variables, the academic achievement of the student was also taken into account. The marks obtained by the students in their last examination were considered as a measure of academic achievement. The data obtained were analyzed to measure the extent of Study Habit and Use of library among Post Graduate students of four faculties. Besides, an attempt was made to examine the main and interaction effect of ethnicity, faculty and gender on two main dependent variables namely Study Habits and Use of Library. Furthermore, the relationship of Study Habits and Use of Library was examined with adjustment, aspiration and parental support. Inter-relationship of Study Habits and Use of Library was also studied and those two variables were correlated with academic achievement.

Book Description
ABOUT BOOK In this study, Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University and Bishkek Humanities University students' level of study skills and their differences; students' ability to prepare for the lesson and exam, their exam anxiety and time management were examined. Today, people experience changes and developments within the framework of education. Rapidly developing technology and artificial intelligence demand better innovations from the human brain. This, of course, causes changes in educational programs. These days, new generations are expected to be 'world citizens' where students are expected to speak, at least, in two foreign languages, have a good knowledge of technology, good communication skills and be successful in everything else. These expectations increase responsibilities of a student in the education and training process and often cause difficulties in adapting to changing conditions. The university student's adaptability to good study skills from the first year will help him/her easily overcome most academic challenges and take advantage of learning opportunities. As we know, learning is a lifelong skill, and when mastered, it will have positive effects with every new beginning. When the student knows his/her style better, he/she becomes more motivated and learns how to use his/her time correctly so that he/she will be more successful in further academic career. By adapting good study skills, students gain a great opportunity to overcome all possible obstacles in the educational process. Good study skills help students take advantage of learning opportunities, reduce exam stress, and help students feel safe (Devine, 1987). Exam anxiety occurs with physical and psychological changes and generally affects student's educational performance negatively. Unfortunately, the results of the exam determine the success of the student in the intensive education life. Under the pressure of parents and society, students are not being able to show their true knowledge. Therefore, instead of putting pressure on students, trying to motivate even their smallest achievements will bring positive results.
